Invitation to a lecture – A Novel Approach to Optimize Thermal Medicine: Target-Specific Parametric Multiphysics Modeling for System Design and Clinical Translation.
As a part of the series CYCLE OF LECTURES OF WORLD EXPERTS IN THE FIELD OF BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING, the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of the Czech Technical University is organizing an online lecture “A Novel Approach to Optimize Thermal Medicine: Target-Specific Parametric Multiphysics Modeling for System Design and Clinical Translation”. The lecture will be presented by Dr. Paolo Maccariny, Ph.D. (Duke University, NC - USA), who is one of the world's leading experts in the introduction of microwave technology in medical therapy and diagnostics.
In his second lecture, Dr. Maccarini (Duke University and Duke University Medical Center, USA) will introduce a novel approach to improve the design, validation, and control of medical devices for thermal medicine. It is based on a combination of target-specific multiphysics computer modeling with methods of artificial intelligence. With the presented approach, it is possible to create an optimized design of therapeutic devices which ensure safe, and consistent treatment across a diverse clinical population.
