Dr. Sebastián García: Cybersecurity and civil society

"We know that there are plenty of security problems and attacks in all the software we use. Malware evolves and attacks journalists, politicians, institutions and home users alike. Your devices turn against you and they sell your data. Organizations sell your data and flood you with adware. To counteract these we created the Stratosphere Lab in AIC. A group of researchers using Machine Learning to protect others, to protect the civil society and NGOs for free. To protect you. Bio:

Sebastian is a malware researcher and security teacher that has extensive experience in machine learning applied on network traffic. He created the Stratosphere IPS project, a machine learning-based, free software IPS to protect the civil society. He likes to analyze network patterns and attacks with machine learning. As a co-founder of the MatesLab hackspace he is a free software advocate that worked on honeypots, malware detection, distributed scanning (dnmap and domain_analyzer), keystroke dynamics, Bluetooth analysis (bluedriving), privacy protection, intruder detection, robotics, microphone detection with SDR (Salamandra) and biohacking.
