Anne Vanhems began her studies of violin at the conservatory of Toulouse, with Klaus Muhlberger, and later on became a student of Sylvie Gazeau. She then obtained first prizes of the city of Paris in Violin and chamber music. She also obtained the first prize of the UFAM competition (Union des Femmes Artistes Musiciennes).
Anne is statistician economist graduated from ENSAE Paris with a PhD in Applied Mathematics and is currently professor at Toulouse Business School.

Pierre Maréchal studied piano at the conservatory of Toulouse with Daniel Beau and Thérëse Dussaut. He obtained the gold medal of piano in 1990. Pierre Maréchal is currently professor of Mathematics at Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse. He devotes his spare time to chamber music and in particular the repertoire for violin and piano with Anne Vanhems.
