ARKOS FORUM

10 Apr 2012-11 Apr 2012

VCES company is preparing for April, together with its partner - developer CECOPRA, an international forum focused on sustainable architecture and construction.

This forum will build upon the success of the initial year, which aimed at showing possible future ways in sustainable architecture and at emphasizing the need to "build differently". However, environmentally responsible architecture should also apply to existing constructions. Sustainable Renovation, the current topic in Europe, will therefore become a central theme of the upcoming year of ARKOS FORUM.

The second edition of the forum will be started on Tuesday, 10 April 2012, with Keynote Lecture made by Philippe Madec, an internationally recognized French theorist and practitioner of environmentally responsible architecture and urban planning. Philippe Madec will explain the current challenges, the principles and the impacts of this new fast growing field of architecture.

Wednesday, 11 April 2012, will be a Study Day entitled "Why and how renovate the existing constructions in a sustainable manner". Leading European architects will present their best projects in the area of sustainable renovation completed abroad as well as in the Czech Republic.

The integral part of this forum is an exhibition ?Ecological Living: What Architecture for a More Sustainable City??. This international exhibition produced by the Cité de l?Architecture & du Patrimoine in Paris presents completed sustainable projects and shows the global approach of environmentally responsible architecture in a time which is pushing for a radical change to our lifestyle. The exhibition is open to the public from 10 April ? 10 June 2012 in Palac Krizik I, Prague-Smichov.
