Lars Beex: Multiscale Quasicontinuum Methods for Dissipative Truss Models and Beam Networks

The quasicontinuum approach is a multiscale approach specifically introduced for discrete (conservative) atomistics. The method has recently been reformulated in terms of the virtual-power statement of non-conservative/dissipative discrete models by Lars Beex and co-workers. In this lecture, Lars will summarize these developments and will present additional extensions under investigation.
