Biography:

Egle Uljas was born in Tallinn, Estonia. She entered Tallinn Music High-School when she was four years old. She has studied under the guidance of Reet Ruubel and later with Alexandra Juozepenaite-Eesmaa at the Estonian Music Academy. She received several top three places at the Estonian Young Pianist's Competitions during her studies. In 2004, she was selected to play at the graduation concert Ravel's Piano Concerto in G-Major in Estonian Concert Hall with Tallinn Music High School orchestra. Later, with the same concerto she became the Winner of the Concerto Competition in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was also one of the pianists selected to play at the Liszt Society Concert in Lincoln, Nebraska. Shortly after entering Estonian Music Academy, she was recruited as an Olympic Athlete to the United States. She is the Estonian Record Holder in 400m-s as well as in i800m, i1000m, i600m, i600m yards and so on. She studied piano performance at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln under the guidance of Paul Barnes (a student of Menahem Pressler) and later at Baylor University under the guidance of Krassimira Jordan (a student of Emil Gilels and Stanislav Neuhaus). She received financial donations from the legendary Van Cliburn for the final year of her studies. She has attended several master classes in Europe as well as in the United States. She has given concerts in Tallinn, Prague, Houston, New York, Yekaterinburg, etc. In US, she appeared as a piano accompanist as well as an organist. She was appointed as an Assistant for the legendary organist Joyce Jones, but after her graduation she decided to continue her career in Europe. During her studies with Joyce Jones, she worked as the main organist at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Waco, Texas. In 2012, She attended an internship at HAMU (Music Academy in Prague) under the guidance of Martin Kasik.
