Challenges of Journalism in 21. Century – Automated Journalism and AI Journalism

24 Sep 2020

As part of our TAČR project dealing with AI Journalism, Faculty of Social Sciences (Charles University) is organizing a conference titled "Challenges of Journalism in 21. Century – Automated Journalism and AI Journalism" and opens Call for Papers.

During the last decade, we were witnessing the rise of automated journalism and the application of artificial intelligence tools in the newsrooms. From the simple use of templates to highly sophisticated automated content production, omnipresent algorithms, news on social networks, fake news production and its detection became our everyday media practice. AI has slowly but unstoppably entered the media landscape. The rise of AI brought a wide scale of problems and questions.

Organizers call for a proposal addressing, but not limited to, the following themes.

Theme 1: Newsgathering
Theme 4: News Production
Theme 3: News Distribution
Theme 4: AI Ethics

Deadline for abstract submissions before July 31, 2020. Further information: https://aijournalism.fsv.cuni.cz/aktuality/cfp-challenges-of-journalism-in-21-century-automated-journalism-and-ai-journalism/.
